THE TOASTER

Dualit 6 slice rebuild.    
 

  
Looking very sad, the toaster arrives in the shed.
There was no fuse in the plug.

                                   
                                               
Replace it and switch on.........
Lovely sparks and crackly noises pay a visit.

Time for a better look methinks.

Out with the crumb tray and off with the bottom plate.

                        

 Dead sparks and bread bits.



The source of the sparks, crackles and funny smell
become apparent. The toaster has been sadly abused.
 
Somebody has attempted to toast liquid.

(Liquid is NOT bread  and will not toast).

Looks like a full strip and rebuild is in order.

Don't like the look of the myriad tiny nuts,
bolts & washers.

                        

Everything is a mess.

Green fur and rust is not a conductor.

Green fur & rust is sparks & smell.

                 

Mr. Scotchbrite and Mr. drill pay a visit.

              

Ends are removed and polished by
Mr. Brasso & Mr. Sore fingers.

                 

More evidence of "liquid" toasting.
All the rivets were removed to strip
and clean the cage properly.

   

Everything stripped, cleaned & polished. 

               

Rivets replaced with tiny nuts,
tiny bolts & tiny washers.
Time for re-assembly with 
fat fingers & fat thumbs.
Assisted by Mr. Swearing.
